The COTV2 torque tester consists of two basic operating elements:
EMITTING MODULE
The transmitter module allows the connection of up to four measuring sensors (power, bending…). For this purpose, it has four independent measuring channels. The main functions of the transmitter module are as follows
The main functions of the transmitter module are listed below:
– Independent power supply for each measuring sensor, with a value of 2.5 Vdc.
– Independent signal conditioning for each sensor. It is possible to modify both the gain and the offset of each measurement channel.
– Simultaneous analogue-digital conversion of the four measurement channels with a resolution of 15 bits (2^15 = 32768 pts) and programmable sampling frequency from 0.25ksps to 64ksps.
– Digital signal processing of each measurement channel with DSP module.
– Determination of the rotational speed (in the case of one axis).
– Wireless transmission of the signal to the receiver module via Bluetooth technology.
– Built-in specific temperature sensor.
– Battery power supply of the module, from 4 Vdc to 18 Vdc (although a supply voltage as close to 4 Vdc as possible is preferable).

RECEIVER MODULE
The receiver module enables the link to the transmitter module for control and operation. In addition, it serves as an interface for connecting the torsiometer to control or data acquisition equipment, e.g. a PC or an automaton.
– It has two communication ports: an RS232 serial port and an Ethernet port:
– RS232 serial port with the following communication parameters: data rate 115000 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no communication control.
– Ethernet port: compatible with 10/100/1000Base-T networks. The implemented communication protocol is TCP/IP. On the other hand it is also possible to connect a 128×64 pixel LCD graphic display. The size of the display is 68x51mm. The supply voltage of the receiver module is 24 Vdc. For special applications, the receiver module can be omitted. In this case it is necessary to have a PC (laptop, desktop, industrial or embedded) with a Bluetooth communications port. It will also be necessary to install the appropriate software for the application.
